Weekend Running

From Ali: Sunday 10K group this morning with a hilly run out and around Bradford Abbas. A very humid morning with great company.

From Jo: Lovely Sunday morning social run with The Inbetweeners Group. Not bright sunshine but very muggy. Great running by all & thanks to the nice man we approached to take our picture.

How to Put a Cone Out

From Jo: Today 7 of us either renewed or did for the fist time the traffic management course so we can keep the club legal & within EA guidelines!! It was a good day made better with Triss Samuel’s quiche for breakfast & dinner & amazing ice cream on the way home.

Park Runs

From Claire: A little bit of local Parkrun tourism for the Claire’s today! A trip to Sharpham Road Playing Fields, Cheddar. A lovely 2 lap course along the old Strawberry Line, lovely route and friendly team. Post Parkrun breakfast and a mooch around the Gorge to stretch our legs!

From Linda: So I've now got my J for parkrun alphabet! Jersey Farm parkrun. Lovely course. 2 and a bit laps. 1 lap under trees and the second around the meadow, which was very hot. Lovely course, glad we got there early as there was road closures and limited parking. We found a nice garden centre and had coffee afterwards. This was my 199th run. Roll on next week for my 200! Thanks to my cousin Susan West for driving.

From Lesley: Teignmouth parkrun for Tony, Helen & me today, followed by breakfast at 'Brunch', a ferry ride across to Shaldon and nice circular walk apart from a very steep hill and half a mile fighting through bracken and nettles, so all our legs are tingling now! We rewarded ourselves with an ice-cream back in Teignmouth. It was Helen's first visit to Teignmouth parkrun and Brunch, so a successful morning all round.

From Adam: Family trip to Weymouth for Park Run - double buggy for me, run for Robbie Hawkins, Paul Bonner, Kyra Bonner and Eli. Followed by lovely sea swim and breakfast.

From Ali: A few of the YTRRC runners that turned up at Frogmary park run this morning. Sorry to those missed off the photo. A cloudy but humid run today.

From Louise: Market Rasen Parkrun for us this morning. All run on a tarmac path inside the rails. A 1k loop and 2 x 2k loops. Quite windy and exposed but apart from that a fast and flat course, very friendly, loads of parking. Thought we were from the furthest away but was trumped by Malaysia! There's always one.

PUB RUN – ASH – (8TH AUGUST 2024)

From Mark: There were five in the not so fast group tonight (Sue, Elie, Kirsty, JC, and myself). It was grey sky, but warm and humid, as we left the pub to run an anti-clockwise loop. Running eastwards, and turning left we descended along Witcombe lane. We passed through Witcome, and stopped at New Witcombe farm. Turning left, we climbed along the rough lane to Milton, and turned to the left. Passing through this village of old stone houses, we came out onto the Ash road just up from the traffic lights at Stapleton Cross. Next we ran to the traffic lights, and then along the main street into, and through Martock. We stopped at the triangle for photographs. With a climb and two left turns, the last leg, was back along Martock lane into Ash, and back to the pub. In the pub we were joined by Alison’s group (Alison, Beryl and Babs), and Phil and Guy, for the meal. Thanks Phil for organising.

From Terry: Finally back home at 20 past 10 after 118 mile round trip to Haselbury, but worth every mile to meet up and run with you lot. Sorry I some how missed the team pic. Interesting race profile, but pleased to be 3 minutes better than last year, well done Joanna on a massive improvement against last year, and Elie, under an hour around there, impressive, but everyone was impressive. A really enjoyable evening with great company. For me, just what I needed...
