Lytchett 10. Full Results
From Jo: Today saw our next club championship race, Lytchett 10. None of us cared that we were about to take on a hilly 10 miles, or that it was sub zero as we started, it was dry & the was shinning!! It was a case of anything g the girls can do, the boys can do too as we took our selfie pictures after the group picture - don’t we all look like well tuned athletes . Luke Betteridge came in first with some ridiculously fast time, closely followed by Gareth Davies & Joseph. Bungy Williams was next in for the gents (anything for a Hat!) & Terry Byrne finished the men’s team off In style with a great age grade time. They came 26th men’s team to finish . Clair French nailed it for the ladies in another ridiculously fast time & as much as I would like to say I was not too far behind her as the second club lady, I was a long way behind but in a very respectable time thanks to Terry pushing me hard in the final quarter (thanks Terry ). Linda Membury was just behind me looking strong as she came over the line (thanks for the bath ) & Rachael Jones came over the line with a very strong, and a lovely smile, finish bagging us ladies 19th female team .
Results are in & I think it is safe to say we all did our club proud

From Dan: GP Goodwood Marathon. 3:24:46, 5th in Age category. Last Sunday long training run before the Zurich Maratón de Sevilla in two weeks time….. Absolutely stoked with that one. Super happy with the time and felt good all away round. 11 laps of the Goodwood Race Course.
Pretending to be a McLaren… Special mention to Deanna for smashing her Half marathon PB by 6 minutes. In a time of 1:47:14.
Portland Coastal Marathon. Full Results
From Darren: Portland coastal marathon aka “Portland Thunderdome” two ankles enter, one ankle leaves with myself, AAndy Lambert DDom Roweand RRachael Quick Always nice to see friendly faces from the club before you set off on a questionable distance .During the race, halfway round fist bumped Andy, caught Dom cruising along the only flat bit of the race at good speed. And, finally bumped into Rachael, who I found out later was taking pictures as she went around . The last couple miles were hard, but just need more training to crack it.
Moonlit Meadow Dark Skies
From Ann: My self ,matt and my daugter ruby travelled down to longrow meadow taunton to do there moonlit meadow dark skies 10k and 5k. It was one lap for 5k and 2 laps for the 10k . My self and my daughter done the 5k as she was injured but she done really well and im very proud of her its only her second event and she's really enjoying it . Shes definitely going to be be joining Yeovil Town RRC as soon as shes old enough. Shes getting in the training now ready. The course was a trail course with lots of mud and a few puddles .The marshals were great and very friendly at the end they had sweets and water or if you liked hot chocolate and cake in the cafe after . Matt Bambury done the 10k and done very well.
Exeter Half Marathon
From Graham: A massive congratulations to George, who came 2nd in the Exeter half marathon, in an amazing time of 1hr 14mins!! George is a quiet humble guy, who comes to track every week. His hard training is certainly paying off!!!!
Cardinham Half
From Steve: A Friday night drive down to Cornwall and a night in the van before an 8am start for the Cardinham woods (Bodmin) trail half marathon. A 2 lap undulating (2200ft of elevation gain) route (or should that be root!) through the woods. Really pleased to finish 9th and 1st in age (but no age group prizes). Now back to the campsite to shower and warm up.
Wildwood Trail Series Half Marathon
From Andy: I ran this event this morning in the picturesque Moors Valley Country Park. The route takes you into the heart of the woodland as you wind your way through the trees. The trail is mainly on gravel paths with a few bogs and a long sandy hill climb. I went over the line in 10th place today. A quick change in the car park and we were off to the Udder Farm Cafe for lunch ,washed down with a bottle of Harry’s Cider.
Langstone Harbour Half
From Margarita: So swapped today's parkrun for a half marathon. Langstone Harbour Half Marathon. You start by getting a ferry to Hayling Island then you run from Hayling Island back to the point you got the ferry. A nice mix of trail, starting on the pebbles, the Billy Trail and then coastal path before the muddy beach I enjoyed this one and did better than I thought I would. A very cold race but was good when warmed up and missed most of the rain.
Weekend Running
From Helen: Sunday Club Run - Trent Loop in Reverse. Icy and misty in Yeovil but sunny in Trent! Thanks team, good run this morning. Photo of the cake just for you Andy Lambert!!
From Sharon: A cold morning leading Ally's Sunday group. Awesome running from all with varying distances from 5 to 7 miles. Smashed it ladies.
From Tim: Saturday morning Cavity trays social run covered the Montycute/Balls Hill bit of the Yeovil half route. We split into two groups, Sharon Hardy leading one with me the other, It was fresh and dry morning but we soon warmed up as we made it down to the start of Bluebell Road turning towards Montycute. It's a lot nicer when they close half of the road. Then it was just up Balls Hill. All reached the end having covered at least 10k with some continuing and achieving 10 and 12 miles. Well done all.
Park Runs
From Terry: Small group of us at Frogmary to celebrate their 150th anniversary of Parkrun.
From Taryn: Tourism at Poole parkrun this morning- chilly and grey but great experience around their lake with sooo many taking part. Great company with Katie Stokes.
From Ali: Jersey park run this morning. We took the bus from St Hellier and it dropped us at the sports centre. A lovely flattish route along the cycle path, the old railway line and along the lane by the golf course near the sea. A bit drizzly and would be lovely on a sunny day.
From Jo: Lovely morning out with Linda Membury & Helen Nesbitt at The Great Field parkrun followed by a lovely breakfast. We were meant I be taking to easy but it was still quicker than we had planned. Oh well, we had warmed up by the time we had finished, it was bitter out there.
From Sue: Waitangi Parkrun, Wellington done, a beautiful sunny day for a run along the harbour side. A large turnout of runners of all abilities. Haven't done a lot of running for ages so very happy to have completed it in less than 30min.
PUB RUN – LIMINGTON – (6TH FEBRUARY 2025)
From Mark: There were five of us in the not so fast group tonight (Rachael, Louise, JC, Nick, and myself). The air was cold, and we ran a clockwise loop incorporating Ilchester, Costello Hill, Bineham lane, Yeovilton, the Weir, and back to Limington.
Afterwards in the pub I thought the food was good. Thanks Phil for organising.
