Another Yeovil Half

Another Yeovil Half

Yeovil Half.               Full Results        Photographs

A great turnout by the Club with 67 down as Yeovil Town RRC in the results. There are too many photographs on Facebook so I have added just a few. Great running and well done if it was your first Half as its a PB and you will be faster on the next one.

From Helen: A few photos of our Half Marathon winners - 1st Lady for Gill Pearson and Age Categories for Lesley Nesbitt, Paul Card and Mat Sparkes very well done.

After the Race Denise had organised a meal at the Yeovil Brasserie for about 22 of us, a great Sunday Lunch and we were looked after well. Thanks

Schools

From Adam: Many thanks to all the wonderful YTRRC members and friends who were able to help organise the final Yeovil Primary Schools Races of the season this week.

Without their help these events would not happen! 404 children from 28 schools took part.

There will be a final event on April 24th - the Somerset Inter-area primary schools races which we are hosting and organising.

Thanks

Adam

Bournemouth Bay 10km

From Charlene:  My first ever running race today! Bournemouth Bay 10km was fantastic. A great atmosphere and lovely run along the sea front. Thank you Yeovil Town RRC for giving me the confidence to get out there and run! Can’t wait to sign up for more.

Eastbourne Half

From Margarita: So for something totally different, decided to do another half but this time over to Hastings and the reason for this was their solid brass medal, a sucker for a medal me! This was the race that kept on giving hills. The first 10km was pure hills, it did get easier as there were some nice downhills, then a finish on the very windy seafront. Lovely sunny day it too!

Park Runs

From Claire: Some Parkrun international tourism for myself and Claire S, celebrating Claire’s 100th Parkrun in Amsterdam . A beautiful one lap undulating route through forest and past lakes. Very enthusiastic marshals. It was made very clear in the run brief not to step on the tulips (apparently more important than runners!) Delicious post Parkrun breakfast and pancakes.

PUB RUN – LIMINGTON – GUY’S 60THBIRTHDAY – (21 ST MARCH 2024)

From Mark: It was Guy’s 60th birthday pub run, and also a help yourself curry night at the Lamb and Lark.

I ran in a group of seven with Alison leading (Alison, Chloe, Denise, Mel C, Sharon, Russ, and myself). We ran the anti-clockwise loop passing through Yeovilton, and Ilchester. Leaving the pub re ran up towards the weir and stopped at the weir for photos as the light was beginning to fade. We continued along Bineham lane and regrouped at the Costello Hill junction. Turning left we ran towards Ilchester and regrouped again at the roundabout. We ran into Ilchester, and followed the road behind the church. Turning left we continued eastwards back towards Limington. We climbed a gentle hill, and regrouped before reaching the friendship bench. Tim with Honey joined us for the last leg back to the pub. Afterwards, around 30 of us sat round one long table to eat in the skittle alley. A presentation was made to Guy by Steve the club chairman.
