Happy Christmas to all Club Members

The Pie’d Piper Marathon

From Gareth:  The Pie’d Piper Marathon 2080ft 3 hrs 41 mins - 3rd place. A solo trip up to Telford last night with some 5 accommodation staying at the M54 service station in the van. 3 loops of around 8.8 miles. Still had last weekend in my legs, so super happy with a third place finish. Had to drive myself home so I stopped half way and had a sleep in the back of the van.

Sturminster Slow & Dirty 19k

From Debbie: There were three of us from the club at Sturminster Slow & Dirty 19k race today. Clair and Gary rocketed round despite Gary pushing Finlay in his buggy! It was a cold start for the flattish race along the old railway line. Mince pies and mulled cider at the finish!

Park Runs

From Margarita: Another parkrun for the books.

From Helen:  Massive Congratulations to Robert Adams for completing his 250th Parkrun at Frogmary this morning it’s a great milestone! Was a bit muddy and slippy out there! Thanks to Joanna for coming away from moving to celebrate with us and deliver a great big balloon!

A few of us enjoyed a very delicious brekki after (once it finally arrived at our table after an hours wait!)

From Kevin: Another new parkrun ticked off at Killerton with lots of mud.

Weekend Running

From Lesley:  Last Sunday club run of 2024 (next Sunday is the Scavenger Hunt from the Bell 9.15). It was cold, windy with a couple of hail storms thrown in. There were 15 of us - Mandy was 'on fire' and certainly nowhere near the back to keep me company . Well done all and wishing you all a Merry Christmas.

From Sharon:  Whilst many from the club did Frogmary supporting Robert Adams in his 250th parkrun (well done Rob) a few ran from cavity trays running out to Montacute. Lots of lovely puddles for Honey and some hills for us all to enjoy.

Thanks to everyone for their company and chat throughout 2024. Not sure if Tim Willis and I will be there next week (watch this space) but definitely same time, same place in 2025.

PUB RUN – STOFORD – (19THDECEMBER 2024)

From Mark:  It was the last pub run before Christmas, and there were five in the not so fast group (Ann, Matt, Louise, Rachael, and myself). It was cold and windy in the exposed parts.

Leaving the pub, we headed up the road, and passed under the railway line into Barwick. We continued past the church and up the hollow, and made our way to the Red House. We ran westward, with a cold wind, to the south western edge of Yeovil. At this point the group split. Matt, Ann, and myself ran a loop around the houses before reaching the A37. We ran down the A37, back to the Red House, and back down into Barwick. We climbed past Barwick farm and continued along Rexe’s Hollow. At the end, we turned right, and ran past Yeovil Junction, and through Stoford back to the pub.

After the run we joined Phil and JC for the meal in the pub. Thanks Phil for organising. The food was a little while arriving, but well worth waiting for. Happy Christmas all.
