PUB RUN – KEINTON MANDEVILLE – (2NDJANUARY 2025)
From Mark: For the first pub run of 2025 we were at Keinton Mandeville. It was cold (around -1 deg C). There was just JC and myself in the not so fast group. Leaving the pub, and heading eastward through the village, the ground was a little icy in places. It was still very Christmassy with lights in gardens along the way. We continued to the old phone box, and turned right for Chalton Adam. Ahead there was a bright orange crescent moon. Approaching the Hump back railway bridge, the camp was well lit up a few miles to the south. We turned left, and ran past the pub (now closed, and in darkness). Before reaching the A37, and at the 2.5 mile point, we turned around and headed back the same way. It was a nice run in cool air, and it felt good to get my first run of the year done.
We joined Phil, and Guy for the pub meal. The food was good and reasonably priced. All in all, it was a good start to the new year. Thanks Phil for organising.
