Weekend Running
From Ali: Sunday 10K group this morning on Remembrance Sunday. Taking photo opportunities at the soldiers on route. Some of us walked up to the borough afterwards for the Remembrance Service.
From Matt: A successful recce of The Monty Course this morning. Had to split into two groups to allow for the speedsters. Its still a stupid course!
Well done everyone...
From Lesley: Chose the Town Circuit for our run this morning. This enabled a split point for those wanting less than 10 miles. We even saw a tiny bit of blue sky . Thanks all for the company and Helen for the lovely cake ( Dom please note - no dip in the middle).
Cardinham Twilight 10 mile
From Andy: Cardinham Twilight 10 mile forest run.. 2 x 5 mile loop with some Brutal hills that are not for the faint hearted! Thats my 10 mile race for the hat . Grand Slam completed.
Bignight out 11k
From Ann: Tonight I went to Winchester to do the bignight out 11k which actually ended up being over 12k . It's run by big feat events, I arrived at the athletics track to pick up my race numbre ,glow sticks and children doing facepaìnts once I was ready I went over to the start the 22k started at half five, the 12k started at 5.45 we ran once around the stadium and then headed across town to the South downs way . Our aid station was at the top of chilcomb and wow what a hill to get there it just kept on giving once at the aid station that was well stocked especially for a short race we went through the downs which was pitch black ,don't know what I expected for a night time run. But going through there was technically challenging with tree roots slippery chalk surfaces and lots of rocks but even though you done it in the dark it was really good fun I met a couple of people I ran with from mile 3 in . We chated and had a great time ,we followed small arrows but lit up so well with your touches, we had red ones for turning and white ones for going straight . Our last mile and a half was along the canal and back through town and just as you headed into the stadium you thought yes its the end nope they gave you one more lap of the track. The lovely people I ran with was behind me but one of the men said no way was i doing that and we had a little race to the end and we even had a pic together which they asked me to be in and seeing they didn't know me I thought was lovely . We received a great medal and crisps and drinks at the end . Then a hour and a half drive back but definitely worth it.

Ally, Rob, Mel, Storm and I then went to Venzia on the Quay for breakfast, before a nice walk around the shops, including coffee and cake. A trip wouldn't be the same without ice cream on the way back at Otter Valley. Thanks Rob for driving and Rob, Ally, Mel & Storm your company, a great time had.

PUB RUN – ASH – (7TH NOVEMBER 2024)
From Mark: There was a good turnout for the pub run tonight and six in the not so fast group (Matt, JC, Kelly, Elie, Louise, and myself). It seemed fairly cool at the start, and dry.
We ran the usual clockwise loop, firstly running down into Martock, then running northwards up the main street. The left turn took us to Coat, and turning right took us back up into Ash via the traffic lights at Stapleton Cross. To finish we ran a loop round the village of Ash.
There were around 11 of us, I think, eating afterwards in the pub. Thanks Phil for organising.
