Frogmary Green Farm Parkrun

From Jo: Our club is the greatest - let’s go & spread the word…….

Saturday March 18th is the next Yeovil Town RRC support of Frogmary Green Farm parkrun.

Please can you head to their webpage & get signed up on the volunteer page. All sorts of volunteer positions available so hopefully as many of us as possible can get involved. This is our local Parkrun & allows us to really promote our amazing club as well as supporting our local Parkrun. If anyone has any questions please either give me a shout or give Lisa Hallett a tag in the comments.

REMINDER - DENISE AND MEL'S SOCIAL WALK ON PORTLAND - SUNDAY 12 MARCH 2023.

From Mark: Just to remind you of our social walk on Portland next Sunday (12th March). We are starting 10 o clock from the car park behind the Heights Hotel at the top of the hill. We will walk down the west side to Portland Bill missing out the path closures. We will then walk back using the eastern coast path as far as possible, and then use roads or paths back to the car park. This will be around 9 miles. After, we drive or get lifts down the hill to the Cove House Inn in Fortuneswell for the meal. The choices are roast Beef, Pork, or vegetarian options. The aim is to get to the pub for 2:30.

So far 13 have said via facebook they are doing the walk and meal. That makes 15 including Denise and myself. I believe there are a few more on top of this as well. A few more are coming just for the walk.

PUB RUN – DINNINGTON (2ND March 2023)

From Mark: There were only four of us tonight in the not so fast group (Darius, JC, Paul, and myself). I made up a new route combination that came to just under 6 miles. In the darkness we left the pub and slogged up the hill. After a right fork and right turn we were running down the narrow rutted lane towards Allowenshay. Turning right at the village we headed to Furzy Knaps (which is a road junction). Turning right, then left at the Fosse Way (Roman road), and then right shortly after, we ran up to Hinton St George, which is at the top of a very steep hill. We took a brief photo stop, and carried on westward through the village. At the other end, we turned right and descended the steep hill. The two planets Jupiter and Venus were ahead of us guiding us back to the pub. At the end of the lane, we turned left, and ran the short distance along the Fosse Way, back to the pub. Thanks group. Ten of us stayed for a meal, and sat round one big table. Thanks Phil for organising.
